argh

I haven't been able to bring myself to map for some years now, I gave it a go a few months ago but nothing came of it. I guess now I feel apathy when it comes to the subject, I'm so disappointed that no good games have been released in some years. There is no motivation for me to continue.

Hopefully Natural Selection 2 will be amazing and reinvigorate me, I remember what it was like to have that passion burn but now it's gone. I'm pretty bitter about the whole thing.

dod_vallente

Bauer has released a new version of dod_vallente, this map is a port of my dod_cal_sherman2 for Day of Defeat source.

- renamed the map to dod_vallente
- fixed the spawnbug
- moved the spawnpoints back to their original positions
- moved the frist flags forward
- added a ladder on axis/allies side to reach the sniper loft
- added a new path from the back alley to first flag (on both sides)
- added a new path from mainstreet to back alley (on both sides)
- added a new path in the back alley (on both sides)
- added a balcony at axis sniper room
- removed the sherman tank at axis first
- added vehicle at axis first
- changed the gate in the allies spawn to prevent a too long sniper spot
- changed the skytexture
- fixed some texture/lightning/stuck bugs

Map is looking very cool with the changes to the lighting & skybox.. very moody. Check out the screenshots and download over at the Day of Defeat Forums.

AGAINLOL

yes, I am back yet again.. to mapping. I have probably said it before but I am going to be taking things more seriously, I have many ideas that have come to me in my time off and I hope to crank out a couple of maps for dod source in the next few months, I am half way through my first project right now... more on that soon.

I started to play Call of Duty 4 a couple of weeks ago, I finally freed myself of the World of Warcrack addiction.. maybe it's time for my to quit smoking as quitting WoW was hard after playing for 18months hardcore.

ins_corruptor

yay I'm mapping again, it's been a while for me but I'm getting back into the swing of things. I have quit WoW so I have a lot of time on my hands now, focusing on a map for Insurgency for Half-Life 2. Here are some early screenshots of the project.

The mapping team has also been very busy of late, we have 6 new maps that will be featured in our upcoming release, foothills, maricopa, mvalley, snowlake2, kingsmountain & pillage. These new maps provide a great deal of diverse gameplay, we have focused on making the game more exciting by creating maps where the gameplay varies drastically from map to map. dod_sherman2_b6

Recently I was approached by the TPG League to do some edits to sherman2 for future leagueplay, this hasn't been done because of the short timeframe but I did manage to create a new version for them which removes the CAL advertisements and also boosts FPS aswell as fixing a few other minor things. You can grab the map from HERE. Hopefully people will stop running _b5 of their pub servers because it has issues.
