A New Leaf

at this time I would like to inform you all that I have launched a new site. mapmonger.com/life

This site will basically serve as a journal for a recent lifestyle change I've initiated. I don't have much to say on the matter right now but the site is updated daily so check it out :)

At this time I will also inform you that this site will be having a massive change of its own. I am no longer involved in game development and I've been on hiatus for a long long time; it's fair to say whatever motivated me to do this is now gone therefore mapmonger needs a change. I am still contemplating exactly what to do with the site; the best bet is that the site will be overhauled and /life will be included in the main site in addition to my works and other nonsense. Stay Tuned.

New website online

I'm still working out the bugs and will be working on the content over the next day so bare with me while the site is a mess lol. Also as you can see above I have a Call of Duty 2 movie coming out very soon, should have it done by this time next week ;D!

The news is still a bit buggy with this site, I need to remove the images from all the posts as I haven't set the CSS to handle them properly just yet. I have also re-enabled comments on news however this might also display incorrectly for the time being.

I disabled comments today, getting way too much bot spam... they will be gone until I add verification or change the comments system

Portfolio Online

I have finally got my portfolio back up after the webcrash... It is almost complete, it contains most of the maps I have released as well as my videos. The downloads still aren't up as yet, I am going to get those uploaded over the next few days and hopefully I can get all my videos back up too.

People Are Finally Getting It

Yes that's right, people are learning that Internewb Explorer is horrible. Just a little something I noticed in my webstats today, 44.3% of visits to this site are FireFox users and IE is down to 27.9% with the rest made up of minor browsers like netscape and opera which I can't believe people actually use. I do remember around 2 years ago when I started this site it was getting around 60% from IE and a lot less for FireFox so it's good the tables have turned on IE and people are starting to wake up to a far superior browser. For those of you still using IE I strongly suggest you give FireFox a go, it dominates any other browser available. Get Firefox today.

AUSCOD Hacked

I'm so fucking sick of these loser hackers that feel the need to hack sites seriously... It appears the webhost for auscod.com has been totally compromised, there is now a server error message and when I login via cpanel (IP) I get this rediculous "stop the war in iraq" shit with some downy music as if anyone is going to give a fuck. Seriously I wonder what these people are on, some fucking hacker kiddie with delusions of grandeur actually thinks he can make any kind of difference by hacking a couple of websites. On the other side of this it does raise concerns about this particular hosting provider... Seeing as another of their hosted sites was hacked as little as a month ago there is an obvious security flaw that has not been adressed, this time it is their entire server. I know for certain this hacker didn't make it through auscod as I have always kept the damn thing secure and have had several hundred attempts on it in the past.

So anyways a big sigh from me, with auscods previous host suffering a total crash and now our new host being hacked I find myself asking "when will it ever end?". Fuck hackers, you will get what you deserve in the end, I know this might be giving them what they want by actually getting angry about it but in reality I can't give a fat fuck about their causes. Little do these people realise that pissing others off will only strengthen their resolve, it sure has done so in my case.

It had to happen I guess.....

Well something had to go wrong, after I enjoyed 10 odd months of solid uptime my hosts webserver died, complete dataloss. I decided to shitcan the old site and upgrade to something a bit cleaner both aesthetically and codewise. Unfortunately everything I had hosted was lost which did include my map hosting service... so sorry to the guys that have lost a mirror in mapmonger, hosting services will be up again soon. My main focus over last/next few days is to get my sites back online, auscod.com the major of these and of course the most affected by the crash. AUSCOD is the largest Australian COD2 Community site going so it was a huge event, we ended up loosing 4000+ forum mosts and a whole lot of new members aswell. I guess in short - bare with me over the comming days as I rebuild this site, i'm going to start mapping again I have decided - playing a lot of cod2 atm has kind of inspired me but I hate the cod2 map tools with a passion so dod:source it is :P even thought I don't play it. Look for some screens in the near future.
