50,000 plays!

Hit somewhat of a milestone the other night, 50,000 plays scrobbled to Last.fm. I joined this AWESOME site on the 13th of September 2006, so in just over 2 years I have played 50,000 mp3s which equates to around 65 mp3s per day on average. My 50,000th track was Dark Forest - Wind and Waves which is an awesome track by the Canadian solo metal project.

I also received my new guitar this past Friday ;D! I ordered a new ESP LTD AX260... this guitar does not disappoint, it's very smooth to play and is wickedly styled. Not a big fan of the fretboard inlays but I got a really good price. The default ESP pups sound pretty sick but I will be putting a DiMarzio X2N in the bridge position for that metal sound.

Keep it metal

Is there a GOD?

We have searched for an answer to this question for the longest time, we now have our answer... A God of Metal exists, proof below...

We have exciting news for our fans Down Under. There has been rumours in the past few days about a possible Amon Amarth tour in Australia. Well, the rumours are true. We are thrilled about this tour in Australia. This will be the first time that the band sets foot on the continent. The tour will be in early January. Tour dates and locations can be found in the tour dates section. We are looking forward to performing for and meeting our Australian fans for the first time. See you at the shows!

Dark Forest

Just came across this band a couple of days ago, I must say I'm quite impressed, everyone should check them out, it's actually just one guy but has a band for live performances. Pretty amazing, you can check out some of his songs at his myspace (horrid), particularly "Winds and Waves" awesome track.

Smells Like Plagiarism

Today a chain of very strange events took place which lead to me actually listening to everyones (least)favorite blonde Paris Hilton's - Stars Are Blind. Wow I wish that hadn't happened seriously, probably the worst song I've ever heard. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but parts of that song sound like something I've heard before.... I guess one can't expect much from a no talent like Paris... All I can say is that track is fucking terribad. All hail metal, our savior.

Megadeth Wallpapers

Well the other day I decided I wanted the Megadeth - United Abominations lithograph for a wallpaper... I went ahead and did it and thought maybe some others might like them too :P nothing too fancy, just the lithograph on a white or black background, I did save them maximum size so they are 350+ and 450+ kb per image. Click the thumbnail below to view the full image then you can either save it to your pc or right click -> set as background. The second set of images is a custom edit by Megadeth forum member "LinkTGF". enjoy ;)

A Matter of Life and Death

No nothing important :P! Just the new Iron Maiden album, thought i'd give it an honorable mention here. So yeah, I picked it up today and I have to say i'm impressed with it, a lot of the time bands I like tend to go from great to sucking BADLY! Case in point - Metallica - St.Anger. So anyways back on to this album, I had to listen to it a few times over as soon as I got it, the thing is packed with catchy rifs all over the place, my only criticism is that it could be a bit harder but still it's great. I think Maiden fans will really embrace this album. If you're not a Maiden fan but want to give it a go - grab "The Legacy" it's probably my favorite from this album allthough im torn between 4-5 of the tracks, "brighter than a thousand suns", "these colors dont run" & "the longest day" are also others + more.
